Tempe Public School is located in the Inner West and has a diverse and vibrant mix of students and families.

Our vision is to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment .We set high expectations for learning so that all students can reach their academic potential and become responsible citizens and confident lifelong learners’ .To do this we ensure there is an emphasis on quality teaching and continuous improvement of learning outcomes for all our students. Our school is committed to providing rich programs to develop skills in critical thinking, problem–solving, communication, collaboration and technology to enable students to reach their full potential educationally, socially and emotionally.

Our school is committed to community partnerships as part of the Newtown Network of Schools (Newtown, Newtown North, Camdenville, Darlington PS and Australia Street Infants School). Providing numerous opportunities for parents, students and staff to work together to develop self and others to strive for excellence and a cycle of continuous improvement and to inspire a culture of collaboration, motivation and inspiration.

Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) is a school-wide behaviour initiative. It employs a whole school systems approach to address problem behaviour to reduce its effects on student outcomes and on the school community as a whole.

PBL encourages positive behaviour from students, which has been shown to improve their self- concept and motivation to learn. This initiative focuses on explicit teaching and supporting positive behaviour for all students. 

It is a program which supports students’ own personal development as well as helping them to understand what is required of them in order to create together a peaceful, productive and harmonious learning community.
