Matraville Public School, originally called Cross Roads, was opened in May 1904.
The school has extensive grounds with a large open playing field, basketball court and playground equipment. The school is fully networked and includes a dedicated computer room and a well-resourced library.
A variety of programs cater for our students, including a Bengali community language program, an enrichment program to support Gifted & Talented learners, English as an Additional Language/Dialect support and performance band, choir and dance groups. Matraville Public School is dedicated to maximising learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
We have a dedicated and cohesive staff working in collaborative stage teams. Academic programs are complemented by creative arts, technology and sporting programs.
The school is committed to meeting the needs of all students and the community. There is an active Parents & Citizens association that has contributed significantly to the school's successful learning programs through various fundraising efforts, as well as contributing to the consultation process.
