James Ruse Agricultural High School

James Ruse Agricultural High School is a selective public school whose vision is to provide national and global leadership in the education of the gifted.

The school challenges and supports gifted students to pursue excellence, develop a lifelong passion for learning and prepare for responsible leadership and service to society. Core values are instilled; the importance of agriculture in everyday life is explicitly promoted.

The school offers a differentiated curriculum with enrichment, extension, leadership and extra curricular programs. Success is recognised by a high profile in the International Olympiad teams, a multitude of competitions, drama and musical pursuits, presence in visual arts, writing, debating and public speaking awards and zone, regional and state sporting representation.

Student welfare and recognition of students as global citizens is catered for by a proactive well-being curriculum across all years. Highlights include a highly successful student leadership program, Cross Curricular initiatives and High Resolves, all in the middle years of schooling to complement traditional programs such as a highly effective Prefect body and SRC.
