Artarmon Public School

Artarmon Public School was founded in 1910 and occupies a split site.

There is a broad socio-economic range within the school community. The student population is diverse with about 72% of pupils coming from a language background other than English.

The school has a reputation for excellence in academic achievement and is also a centre for four opportunity classes. Artarmon Public School provides a rich educational experience for all students in Years K-6 with particular emphasis placed on music and physical education programs.

The school community supports the school with a committed and active Parents and Citizens group participating in the life of the school. The canteen now has an online ordering process for all lunches and is a Healthy Canteen.

Committees that contribute to the life of the school are Uniform, Gardening, Traffic, Environmental, Band and Multicultural. Thanks to the financial commitment of the school community each classroom now has an Interactive Whiteboard to support the integration of technology into the teaching and learning experience.

In 2011 the school will see major building refurbishments completed which will modernise the school and provide new classrooms and facilities for the growing school population. After celebrating 100 years of public education at Artarmon Public School, the school community is looking forward to the next 100 years with great anticipation.
