Fort Street High School in Petersham is one of NSW's oldest public schools, with origins dating to 1849. It became fully selective in the 1960s and has been one of the leading academic schools in the Inner West and inner-city catchment area. The school consistently ranks in the top 20 in NSW for HSC results. Strong programs in humanities, music and debating sit alongside the core academic curriculum.
